DOUBLE OR NOTHING
The Helm offers you a choice. Double or Nothing… Bring all of your Pieces of Eight to a target Outpost and helm will double you Pieces of Eight.
This PvP event can be triggered once every 24 hours by a player who collects “Pieces of Eight” in a Manufactory he owns (it is offered for you 1 time in a “Server Day” – it is 1 time in the interval 00:00 GMT+0 to 24:00 GMT+0).
If the player successfully will complete the task, he will double the number of “Pieces of Eights” that will be on his ship cargo at the moment the task is completed.
Event rules:
- Chest of Eights – All Pieces of Eight will be stashed in the chest. Any additional Pieces collected will be added and doubled upon a successful run;
- No Safe Harbor – Prove your mettle to the Helm. You can only disembark at the target Outpost;
- To the Death – Sink any rival Captains that dare hunt you;
- You are free to refuse Helm Wager and collect your existing Pieces of Eight.
Event notes:
- The maximum number of players is 6;
- It can be triggered once every 24 hours by a player who collects Pieces of Eight in a Manufactory he owns;
- There’s an average of 15 players in a Skull and Bones server, maximum is 20;
- You can spot the destination by noticing a skull and map symbol near the Outpost;
- Player who is carrying “Chest of Eights” cannot use “Fast Travel”, but other participants can use “Fast Travel”;
Debuff “5% Speed Reduction” will be applied to player’s ship who is carrying “Chest of Eights”(was 0%, later -20%, later nerfed to -5%);- So far, the fastest ship is the Brigantine;
- Anyone can quit this event any time;
- If you have a “Chest of Eights” on your ship and you leave the game, the chest will fall out of your ship and float in the water where any other “Helm Wager” participant can pick it up. That is, you will anyway lose all your “Pieces of Eight” that were on the ship at that time you did quit the game;
- You can drop out “Chest of Eights” from your ships cargo and other player can pick it up;
- You can fill up Helm Wager participants list with your friends and you will be safe;
- Your friends can help you and escort you (protect) to the target Outpost;
- Ships not participating in the “Helm Wager” cannot heal your ship (don’t plunder Forts when in Helm Wager 😀 );
- After patch 1.5 – Upon leaving the activity midway, the player would not be able to join any Helm Wager opportunities in the next 30 mins
- After patch 1.5 – Players can earn up to a maximum of 350k Pieces of Eight after successfully completing a Helm Wager.
- i.e player carries 600k Po8, starts and completes Helm Wager, they earn up to 350k Po8 for a total of 950k Po8.
- NOT WORKING after patch 1.3 – Only full manufactories (100%) will now offer a chance (15%) to trigger Helm Wager.
Do not collect “Pieces of Eights” after activating Helm Wager. First of all collect all needed “Pieces of Eight”, after that sail to any manufactory and boost manufactory production, and each time you can collect 1 “Piece of Eight“, collect it – sooner or later you will be offered to accept “Helm of Wager” as it is popping randomly. Accept it and sail to the target Outpost; - FIXED in patch 1.3 –
Helm Wager Bug – You cannot have more than 4 Treasure Maps in your Ship cargo before Helm Wager is activated, as Helm Wager “Chest of Eights” is considered as a “Treasure Map” for the time being. And since there can only be 5 “Treasure Maps” in the ship cargo, if there are already 5 “Treasure Maps” in the ship cargo, the Helm Wager will not be activated by essence (although it will show that it is active) and as a result you will only get 2 Pieces of Eight:after the last patch 2024.03.12 there is another bug – maps are not transferred between ships. If at least one of your ships has 5 maps – Helm Wager will be bugged;chest of eights will have fallen out of the ship;you will not lose your “Pieces of Eight” as they will not be stashed in the chest of eights (applies ONLY for Helm Wager Bug).
